Exquisite Corpses - MoMA

Ciao a tutti!

I present to you...Exquisite Corpses: Drawing and Disfiguration at the MoMA!

I found this through a link on www.lookslikegooddesign.com and loved the idea of tearing letters in half and frankensteining sans serif and serif fonts. It seems to be a play off of the content of the exhibition, which consists of drawings that distort, abstract, and juxtapose the human form.

To view selected works from the exhibit, follow this link: http://www.moma.org/collection/browse_results.php?SHR&tag=ExqCor

The brochure is another extension of the typography found on the wall from the exhibit. Laying the type over imagery found in the exhibit helps keep the brochure interesting and gives the type more character and personality. Also, the stacking/increasing pt size helps guide the viewer's eye throughout the entire brochure. I love the experimental nature of this type treatment and I plan on injecting some experimentation into some of our upcoming type projects.
